Walkezin is a screening and queue platform for walk-in hiring drives. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to your information — what we collect, who receives it, where it is kept and how to have it removed. It is written for the person standing at the venue with a resume in hand.
Who is responsible for your data
When you scan a drive’s QR code, you are applying to an employer. That employer decides which roles it is hiring for and what it requires, so under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 the employer is the Data Fiduciary for your application. Walkezin operates the platform on their behalf as a Data Processor.
Walkezin is the Data Fiduciary in its own right for a narrower set of things: your verified mobile number as your identity across drives, and the operation and security of the platform itself.
Practically, this means a request about your application is answered fastest by the employer, but you may send it to us and we will act on it or pass it on. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile number | To verify you are a real person, issue your token, and send queue updates | You enter it; verified by one-time password |
| Your resume file | To read your qualifications so a panel does not have to re-key them | You upload it (PDF or Word) |
| Details read from the resume — name, qualification, experience, skills, certifications, expected salary | To check the employer’s eligibility rules and to show a panel who they are meeting | Extracted from your resume; you review and correct it before it is used |
| Answers to screening questions | To establish facts the resume did not cover, such as notice period | You answer them |
| The eligibility decision and its reasons | To tell you the outcome, and to let the employer justify it if challenged | Produced by the platform from the employer’s rules |
| Your position in the queue and interview outcomes | To run the queue and record the result of your interview | The venue panel records it |

We do not ask for your Aadhaar number, PAN, caste, religion, health or any other sensitive identifier, and you should not upload documents containing them. If your resume happens to contain such details, they are stored as part of the file but are not used in any decision.
Consent
Nothing is processed until you tick the consent box on the verification step. That consent is specific to the drive you are applying to, and we record when you gave it and which version of this notice was in force at the time (currently 2026-08-24.1).
You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to privacy@walkezin.in. Withdrawing it after an interview does not undo the employer’s own record of having met you, which they may keep under their own policy and obligations.
Automated reading of your resume
To save a panel from re-typing your details, the text of your resume is read automatically. Depending on how the platform is configured for a given drive, this is done either entirely on our own servers using pattern matching, or by sending the extracted text to a third-party AI provider — Anthropic (United States) or DeepSeek (China) — which returns structured fields.
Where an AI provider is used, this is a transfer of your personal data outside India. We send the extracted text only — never your mobile number — and we choose providers whose commercial API terms commit them to processing it solely to return a result. The provider in use for a given drive, and its current terms, are available on request.
No decision about you is made by AI alone. Eligibility is decided by the employer’s explicit rules — qualification, experience, skills — applied to the details you confirmed on screen. Where the rules cannot decide, a person at the employer reviews your application before anything happens. You always see and correct the extracted details before they are used.
Where your data is stored
Candidate data is currently stored in Singapore (ap-southeast-1) on infrastructure operated by Supabase on Amazon Web Services. It is encrypted in transit and at rest.
We intend to move candidate data to India and will update this page when that happens. We would rather tell you where the data actually is than describe where we would like it to be.
How long it is kept
Candidate data is kept for 24 months after the drive, so that an employer can revisit a shortlist and so we can answer a dispute about a decision. An employer may contract for a shorter period.
Resume files are deleted along with the application. Records we are required to keep for tax or audit — invoices, for example — contain no candidate personal data.
Deletion is carried out by a scheduled job that removes expired applications, the resume files behind them and any candidate record left with nothing on the platform. A request you make directly is still handled by our team rather than automatically, and we say so because a policy that implies automation which does not exist is not worth reading.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you and who it has been shared with;
- correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
- erase your data where it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it for;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated;
- have a grievance heard and answered.
Write to privacy@walkezin.in from the mobile number or email on your application, or ask the employer directly. We aim to respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
The platform is for people seeking employment and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly process a child’s data. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Access to candidate data is restricted to the employer running the drive and to platform staff who need it to provide support. Every eligibility decision, manual override and administrative action is logged with the identity of whoever performed it.
If we become aware of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required.
